EYEBROW TRANSPLANT

Eyebrows can be absent or partially lost as a result of a number of reasons, including:

  • Genetics

  • Overplucking

  • Trauma (eg scarring)

  • Medical conditions; and

  • Other dermatologic causes, such as Alopecia Areata

Hair Transplant Surgery offers a successful and permanent solution to thickening or replacing eyebrows for cosmetic enhancement. Cosmétique has a faculty of highly qualified doctors who specialise in minimally invasive hair transplantation.

Using the latest technical advances and micro-transplant techniques, we can create natural results that boost your confidence. We employ the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique. This is a method through which individual follicular units (hair follicles) are carefully removed from the donor area in preparation for hair transplantation.

We use the smallest gauge ‘punch’ available to minimise scarring and ensure the most natural outcome. The small punch is used to make a circular incision around the graft, which is then extracted. This process is repeated until sufficient grafts have been extracted.

Why Have An Eyebrow Transplantation?

Eyebrow transplant takes the hair directly from your head, the hairs are permanent and implanted in a pattern and shape of your choosing. The whole process is painless and you can return to work the next day. Acceptance of the grafted hair is high. occasional patient chooses to have a second procedure to achieve greater density.

What is the most common cause for eyebrow hair loss?

There are a number of factors that can result to eyebrow thinning or baldness. It can either be due to over plucking in a poor attempt to groom the eyebrows, or it could be caused by certain accidents such as physical or chemical trauma to the face.

A disease condition that can cause hair shedding can also result to thinned eyebrows. But in some cases the mere fact that a person is aging can lead to sparse eyebrows that may appear to be barely there.

FAQ

Is this a permanent solution?

Yes, eyebrow hair transplant surgery is a permanent solution to eyebrow thinning. You will experience long term growth, and just like native eyebrow hair they will eventually shed but will also regenerate eventually.

How long will the procedure last?

The length of this procedure partly depends on how many hairs are being transplanted. If it’s on the lower end, the transplantation should take two to three hours.

If it’s on the higher end, then three to five hours is likely. The reason it takes this amount of time is due to the fact that each individual hair must be precisely placed onto the eyebrow.

Where will the procedure be performed?

All hair transplant procedures are performed in our custom designed procedure suite.

What to expect after the surgery?

Patients can leave the office, expecting little discomfort of the donor area.  Tiny crusts around each transplanted hair and some redness is to be expected for few days, after which typically there is lessening pinkness which can be concealed with makeup.  The occasional patient will have rather significant bruising and swelling around the eyes. Due to our minimally invasive technique (FUE), you will not have a linear scar or sutures.

How long will it take until I get to see the final results?

The transplanted eyebrows will start noticeable growth at around 4-6 months’ time after surgery. But you have to expect the transplanted eyebrow hair to shed at around 3 weeks post-surgery.

This is a natural process, and hair will start to grow again at two months. The final results can be expected at 10 months. This means that full growth and coverage is clearly observable.

How soon can I return to work?

In general, you can return to work immediately three days after the procedure. However, you may want to wait five to seven days for most if not all of the signs that you had the procedure done to disappear.
What are the risks?

It is a very safe procedure but you may experience some prolonged pinkness or poor growth of the transplanted hairs. The occasional patient chooses to undergo a second procedure a year or more later to achieve greater density.

What is the cost of the Eyebrow transplant?

At Cosmétique it is our goal to provide the highest quality surgeries at an affordable price. Our minimally invasive (FUE) eyebrow transplants vary based on the number of follicles.
